 The UK regulator for the Electricity and Gas industries is Ofgem. It was formed by the merger of Ofgas and Offer the former regulators for Gas and Electricity. 
  
 Ofgem have published some very helpful Consumer Factsheets on the competitive energy market and also published complaint stastics and other useful information. We recommend that you visit their site in order to access consumer information regarding 'quality of service' issues, and 'energy efficiency programmes'.
